We’re thrilled to announce that our clinic has been awarded ATMS Clinic of the Year! This recognition, given by the Australian Traditional-Medicine Society (ATMS), celebrates excellence in natural medicine, and we’re honoured to receive it.
Each year the ATMS Natural Medicine Awards acknowledge outstanding natural medicine practitioners, clinics, and emerging student talents that play a vital role in fostering the growth and success of the industry.
The Clinic of the Year award is a particularly special recognition within our industry, celebrating clinics that have consistently delivered exceptional care, innovation, and service to their patients.
We’re grateful to have been chosen for this award - it reflects the commitment of a team driven by purpose and values, where growth, integrity, and excellence guide us every day. This recognition is a testament to our unique approach, one that empowers our patients to make real, lasting transformations in their health - and in their lives.
Our approach has always been about empowering our patients to make transformative changes to their health. Research shows that for people with chronic health issues, symptom relief alone often isn’t enough - they need support that tackles root causes and promotes long-term well-being. This understanding drove us to create a highly personalised six-month healthcare program designed to offer not only results but also a sense of empowerment, and self-awareness. And the feedback from our patients has been nothing short of inspiring.
Since 2017, we’ve matched our patients with functional medicine-trained naturopaths, and health coaches who guide them through a journey of change. Through thorough testing, in-depth consultations, and ongoing support, our team helps patients uncover underlying health issues and make targeted lifestyle adjustments that truly matter. Our patients tell us they feel more energised, balanced, and in control of their health - and that’s our ultimate measure of success.
In 2023, we launched our disease prevention and longevity extension service, for those looking to optimise and achieve peak wellness. At the heart of this service is our commitment to excellence: our clinic employs cutting-edge diagnostic testing, and couples it up with great advice around supplements and the latest in biohacking protocols. We’re passionate about helping people wind back the biological clock - with data proving the results and enthusiastic feedback from our patients confirming it works.
We believe excellence is about more than clinical outcomes; it’s about the quality of the care experience and something that needs to be a part of everything we do. We’re relentless in looking for ways to improve how we deliver care and support our patients. We combine technology and modern diagnostic techniques with the wisdom of natural medicine to deliver care that’s as forward-thinking as it is rooted in tradition.
The recognition we’ve received, including Most Innovative Functional Medicine Clinic 2024 from APAC Insider, a 98% satisfaction rate from the Australian Achiever Awards in 2022, and consistent 5-star Google reviews, is a testament to our team’s dedication to excellence. This award from ATMS is further validation of our efforts and reminds us we’re inspiring others, and having an impact well beyond our clinic walls.
From a sole practitioner to a full team, we’ve grown in ways I never could have anticipated, and I’m proud Melbourne Functional Medicine has become a trusted part of both the natural medicine community and our local area. Our team is dedicated to sharing our knowledge with the next generation of practitioners, contributing to research, and engaging in meaningful community work.
Whether through teaching, research, or community outreach, our team members are passionate about advancing natural medicine and supporting the health of all Australians. The team actively contributes to the growth of the naturopathic profession and the community, with our practitioners all being actively engaged in mentoring the next generation, while Mark Payne and Rebecca Hughes are prolific in contributing to education, and research. Our coaches are waving the flag for health coaching in Australia, speaking at events, with Bee running meetups for the coaching community. We support local and Indigenous communities, with regular donations to the Hope For Health charity focusing on social support and nutrition education.
I typically like to show it instead of say it, but recently it was suggested to me that sharing some of the details of what it is we’re doing, and the efforts we go to, is about inspiring others (and ourselves) to betterment, which ultimately ends up making for a happier and healthier world.
I couldn’t be more proud of our team at Melbourne Functional Medicine, and see this award not just as a reflection of what we’ve accomplished, but also as a call to keep contributing, learning and growing.
